Pier 60 Sunset Celebration - Clearwater Beach, Florida

Every time I go to Florida, I find myself in Clearwater Beach to watch the sunset. There is just something about the feel of the place that makes me happy!

On my last visit, I decided to pay attention and try to figure out why this place keeps drawing me back. What I noticed was:

An extremely wide beach with sugary white sand! It feels amazing to walk on! So soft!

The water is a beautiful turquoise blue.

The people are all so friendly. I love to meet new people and this place always has the best!

There are places to eat, shop, and stay all up and down the beach walk. So everything is within walking distance. Even though there are lots of buildings and people, it never seems crowded for some reason.

The gulf side and the bay side of the island are only about two blocks apart and both are beautiful!  And guess what I discovered on the bay side….. A beautiful sunrise! 😊

Pier 60 holds a nightly sunset celebration.

It is similar to the one in Key West with artisans, crafters,

and street performers.

Good times!

And of course the sunsets are amazing!!!!

So go enjoy Clearwater  Beach and let me know what you think.

I know you will love it! ðŸ˜Š

Aruba - A Caribbean Island Paradise

Carnival Cruise

Port : Aruba

I have lost most of the photos that I took in Aruba, (sad face) but I will do the best that I can with what is left...

For our Aruba stop, we purchased a day pass to the Occidental Grand Aruba Resort. It is a five star all-inclusive resort.

A tropical paradise is the only way to describe the resort.

At the center of the resort is a large lagoon style pool with a swim-up bar. Two hot tubs are located on an island in the pool.
The swim-up to bar makes amazing banana and mango coladas! And they are included in the day pass!

The girls had fun playing with the large chess set.

The resort has two tennis courts.

Kayaks are included in the all day pass.

Lizards were everywhere around the pool.

White sand, palm trees, and turquoise water.....paradise!

A beach walk stretches along the beach with little shops, places to eat, and other resorts along the way.

This cute little store was the perfect place to get some ice cream.

The Desire is one of the 6 restaurants located at the Occidental.

The front lobby makes for a very elegant entrance.

We enjoyed our day at the resort. We lounged by the pool, snorkeled, kayaked, and played tennis, and chess.
I wish that you could have seen my best pictures, but you can tell that it was a beautiful place anyway!

A Beautiful Island - Grand Turk

Carnival Cruise

The first port of call on the Southern Caribbean Cruise leaving from Fort Lauderdale, Florida is Grand Turk.  After spending two nights and a full day at sea,we were so ready to go ashore and explore. We decided not to take an excursion since there was a nice beach, shopping, and a Margaritaville with a nice pool at the port area.

Welcome to Grand Turk!

The beach in front of the shopping area provides plenty of shade and chairs for relaxing. All of this is free to use.

Margaritaville Caribbean is beautiful and has a large pool area that is free to use This is where you are sure to get a few laughs. There is always some kind of contest going on that gives people a chance to have fun!

A massage on the beach. It doesn't get much better than this! The massages we got were wonderful!

The boats waiting to take people on their excursions. The boats leave pretty quickly leaving the beach clear and free for swimming.

The water was clear and clean.

We snorkeled from the beach. There is not much coral, but fish and other sea life are abundant in this area.

We walked a good ways down the beach and came upon this beautiful site.

This is the only port on this cruise that has a beautiful beach where we docked.

There are quite a few little shops in this area. We found cute dresses, shirts, and a few other tings really cheap.

We had a nice relaxing day at this port.I would love to go back and maybe see more of the island next time.

Old Colorado Inn (Review) Stuart, Florida

I was on a on a long road trip from Arkansas to Key West with my mother, daughter, and her friend where we drove drown the gulf coast and back up the east coast. We were on the tail end of our two week trip when we pulled up at the Old Colorado Inn.

Upon arriving we were greeted by the owner, Steven, who met us with glasses of fresh limeade for us all. It was by far the best limeade I have ever tasted!

After checking into our suite, Steven insisted on helping us unload our luggage and carry it to our room. I was kind of hesitant because the jeep was a total disaster from practically living in it for the past two weeks, but he only hesitated for a second before he pulled the luggage out for us.

Despite being attacked by junk and bags of luggage as soon as the hatch was opened, he just smiled and made us feel welcome!

We stayed in the Key West Suite. The path and entryway that led to our door was simply beautiful! Along the path, you are surrounded by flowers and a little gate that opens up to the path.

That evening, freshly baked cookies were placed on our kitchen counter. In the morning, fresh bagels, muffins and orange juice were delivered to our door.  Talk about service!

A shot walk thought a neighborhood filed with beautifully landscaped cottages will get you to many small specialty stores, restaurants, and the river walk.

It is a short drive to the beaches on Hutchinson Island.

Overall our experience was one to remember! We truly felt like family members while staying at Old Colorado Inn and were treated with nothing but the best service! I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel!
